NYC DOT invites all professional artists, graphic designers, and illustrators (the “Artists”) to submit proposals for artwork to be installed at Car-Free Earth Day at sites designated by NYC DOT in either a one-day installation or digital illustrations for aluminum signage. Up to three (3) Artists may be selected.
Selected Artists for one-day installations shall be responsible for the following:
• Installing one (1) final artwork on site of Event;
• Being available to meet and coordinate with NYC DOT throughout all project phases;
• Being available day of the Event to monitor artwork and engage with the public;
• Providing a signed and sealed technical memo prepared by a NYS licensed engineer; and
• Removing installation after Event completion. Installations may not remain installed following the Event.
Selected Artists for digital illustrations for aluminum signage shall be responsible for the following:
• Completing conceptual design and once approved by NYC DOT Art, completing 10 to 15 final designs; and
• Providing NYC DOT with final digital design files. NYC DOT will print and install signs along Event routes in all
five boroughs.
