Yesenia Moises is an Afro-Latina woman born and raised in The Highbridge Neighborhood of the Bronx. She is a multidisciplinary artist with specializations in children's book illustration and toy design. After graduating from the internationally renowned Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in Toy Design, she set off on a journey to show marginalized youth that they too can live in a world full of wonder and magic. Yesenia’s illustrations can be found on the shelves of Barnes and Noble, Amazon Books, and independent booksellers around the country. Her designs have become toys that are loved and enjoyed by kids around the world. She’s brought her special brand of Afrofantasy to clients such as Macmillan, Scholastic UK, Mattel, and Spin Master. Her second children's book and author-illustrator debut, Stella’s Stellar Hair is set to release in Spring 2021.
