Agnes Murray’s watercolor and oil paintings, printmaking, and other work have been exhibited nationally and internationally in curated and juried exhibits. Born in Washington, DC, she earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park. She lived in the Bay Area for six years receiving her M.F.A. from the California College of the Arts, Oakland. After graduate school, she lived for two years in England where she began developing visual content which continues to inform her work. She has lived and worked in New York State since her return from the U.K., adding new areas of visual studies, including an exploration of ceramic form.
Her work is in national and international collections including Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris; Brooklyn Museum; Library of Congress; Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute, Utica, NY; Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and other public and private collections
