Bronx Council on the Arts is collaborating once again with Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture to present the 2022 edition of the New York Latin American Art Triennial at the Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, one of eight venues for this city-wide exhibition produced by the Bronx Hispanic Festival. The Triennial explores Abya Yala – a name used by millions of indigenous peoples to represent the entire American Continent - from Alaska in the north to Tierra del Fuego in the south. The artworks are based on this name - Abya Yala - which is also a symbol of identity and respect for the roots of American indigenous peoples and used as starting point to explore the direct connection between the original practices inherited from our ancestors and contemporary art. Artists whose work is exhibited at BCA's Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos are from Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico.
