Nelida Tirado Flamenco/Arte 718 will present an intimate evening of live traditional Flamenco music and dance comprised of 5 musicians/dancers in the new Bronx Music Hall at Bronx Commons in the Melrose section of The Bronx. Programming is estimated to take place upon opening of the space in 2023 and within the grant guidelines. Selection of this space was perfect as it is in the downtown section of The Bronx, its a new venue that will be set up similar to a traditional flamenco cabaret space and targets the local community who normally would not have this type of programming accessible to them. Flamenco speaks to hispanic identity because it is part of our culture and history and is the voice and affirmation of any marginalized community.
