Elias Williams is a documentary and portrait photographer based in New York. In high school, he became interested in photography through sports and went on to photograph his High School's basketball games in the South Bronx. In 2009, he studied photography at LaGuardia CC, which changed his field of interest and perspective on photography. After graduating, Elias moved on from sports photography to direct his work towards environmental portraiture and documentary photography. Focusing on long-term projects that highlight underappreciated communities and study the idea of inclusion within communities. His work has been showcased and published in the LaGuardia Gallery of Photographic Arts, Morris Museum, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, International Photo Festival Leiden, L'oeil de la Photographie, Buzzfeed News, NBC News and The New York Times. Beyond photographing, Elias is a photo instructor for A Better Jamaica and digital printer for the Bronx Documentary Center.
