Bombazo, began as a community dance company serving the underrepresented communities in the Bronx with free quality arts performances in dance and music since 2009. Community interest grew in our services and in 2016 we became an official non profit organization entity. Our programming consists of community dance and drum workshops for both children and adults held on Saturdays for a full year, as well as dance and music education programs for community schools and community centers. Bombazo also contributes to artist sustainability in the creation and presentation of work and these performances are also free for the community. We have provided full length evening dance performances at Pregones Theater, Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD) and at Hostos performing Arts centers. Traveled within the tristate area, New Orleans, Florida, Chicago and internationally in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Cuba performing and providing educational workshops.
