We are coordinating a block party to welcome the Melrose community to our new space and to introduce the community to the 12 artists with studios within our community space. We are also inviting other Bronx artists to lead workshops and performances, all free and open to the public. The BCA Arts on the Block grant will be used to pay these artists to lead a postcard making station to create greeting cards for Citymeals On Wheels recipients, provide music and dance performances and art workshops for all ages. BxArts Factory's What's My Art Exhibit, a portable gallery of portraits reflecting the artistic interests of Bronx residents, will also be showcased during the event.
