STARLIGHT and MOONSHADOW’s MAGIC MARIONETTE & PUPPET THEATRE EMPORIUM, by Ave Maria Cross, is a mash-up of puppetry, poetry, and panache. The quirky 'actors' in this Afrofuturistic play juxtapose historical fact; draw analogies with the present; and foretell the future through a bizarre portal of post-apocalyptic happenings inside a conundrum.
Ave Maria Cross is a playwright whose purpose is to write plays from an elder’s perspective that are not only for seniors but children and youth, as well; plays which comprise an exploration of historical events and issues that affect everyone worldwide. She writes using prose poetry, poetic narrative and/or poetry, rap and rhyme, and dialogue. She often incorporates puppets in her plays which are steeped in reality and border on fictitious ideas from her subconscious -- plays which fall under the genre of historical fiction.
