I propose to produce and document in photography, video and writings a series of actions, and interventions, recording the histories that tie six-nine remarkable Bronxites to specific Bronx communities and neighborhoods. I use this opportunity to invite collaborators (local heroes/activists/role models) to co-develop with me performative/ poetic actions that we present together in private, or in the Bronx's public realm. Potential collaborators include Arthur Aviles, Bill Aguado and Martha Watford, among others. Casita María will host an exhibition of all of the materials generated as result of Performing the Bronx as well as a workshop with staff, students and Longwood neighbors. This exhibition is scheduled for the fall of 2015.
