ArC° produced by Abdul Latif-D2D/T addresses, without accusation, our relationship to a common interest in our natural resoures. ArC° , a site-specific pool-performed water-work is an outdoor projection mapped/environmental installation, successfully developed and independently produced last year. This next iteration of the water-work underway is designed to be a New York City public pool performance feature event.
Abdul Latif-D2D/T is a multidisciplinary-urban-contemporary-performing-arts company/organization that integrates live-concert-performance, aesthetic-education-programming and commercial production. D2D/T's mission is to connect, inform and further an understanding of the arts by bridging gaps between fine art and commercial entertainment aesthetics. The aim of D2D/T’s entire body of work focuses on serving as a functional and engaging teaching tool in the concert hall, in cyberspace and in the classroom. Through a hybrid of concert dance staging and commercial entertainment aesthetics, Abdul Latif–D2D/T proliferate an overall aesthetic that merges a diverse-performance-career, creative-professional-experience and arts-education-study. An instructional unit developed from training in Lincoln Center Education’s aesthetic education methodology. At the forefront of Abdul Latif—D2D/T’s work is its move into the evolutionary process of creating art designed to expand thinking and to educate minds. To that end, Abdul Latif–D2D/T, as an Urban-Contemporary_Performing_Arts_Company, exists as a hybrid of diverse technical trainings and urban sensibilities. An organization making extensive headway, cultivating relationships and forging partnerships that are enacting funding sources and audience following that create essential support structures enabling Abdul Latif D2D/T to develop a canon of artistic works and creative material aimed at expansive repertory that further shapes into an instructional unit.
