Bronx, NY —October 1, 2021—Fordham-Bedford Housing Corporation, Fordham-Bedford Community Services and Concourse House are hosting Art on the Concourse, an annual exhibition-fundraiser on October 16th 2021. The event engages a community of sponsors, partners and supporters to help our residents bring creative projects and educational services to life.
Guests will enjoy delicious local cuisine and beverages, entertaining musical performances, and a fabulous tour of public art installations by local Bronx artists from the Fordham Bedford community. This event is for anyone who wants to/is interested in community collaborations to develop public art.
The event aims to raise funds to support Fordham Bedford’s year-round community arts programs which provide a space and support for our community of diverse artists. Our arts programs encourage creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, care for each other and visibility to our communities. We integrate art into our building, educational and recreational services. We organize exhibitions, partner with Bronx based artists and nurture talented artists within our community.
“Art on the Concourse is a culmination of collaborative work between our community and local artists,” said Manuela Schaudt, Executive Director of Concourse House. “We have seen the positive effects the exhibits have on our neighborhood, art is a universal language that can be shared by all, it has brought us together with a sense of pride in our community and we are excited to share it!.”
The event will take place in the garden at Concourse House at 2751 Grand Concourse from Noon to 4:00PM on October 16th, 2021.
