Join us in conversation with three exhibiting photographers featured in our current exhibit: Subject ≠ Object. The conversation will discuss what is private and what is public when working with subjects in photography, as well as the vulnerability of subjects for public consumption and how their image enters into the public consciousness.
Panelists: Roger Richardson, Damarys Alvarez, and Jerry Lim
Moderator: Alexander Campos
BCA and En Foco are proud to present Subject ≠ Object, the highly anticipated 2019 En Foco Fellowship Group Exhibition! The work of the ten winners is on display, depicting works ranging from the Punk scene in Havana, Cuba, to the LGBTQ+ scene at Jacob Riis Park. Styles include diptychs, collages, photographic scrolls, and more. Says curator Alexander Campos, “More than just studies in portraiture and landscape photography, these artists use photography to shed light on race, identity, sexuality, feminism, and politics.”
