Darriel McBride is an entrepreneur, writer, spoken word poet, and activist from the South Bronx. She graduated from Marist College in 2017 with a Bachelors in English Writing and a Minor in Video Production. She is a U.S Fulbright Alumni, Gates Millennium Scholar, John Lewis Fellowship Alumni, and a previous participant in the NBCUniversal Page Program. Darriel’s poetry has been featured in the Bronx Native Writer’s Anthology Vol. 1 and Vol.2, Into the Void, LUNA Magazine, We Are Antifa, Sad Girls Club Literary Blog, the Bronx Memoir Project Anthology Vol V, and the Black Superwoman Chronicles. In 2018, she taught poetry to South African students. In 2020, she was selected to attend the Frost Place Conference on Poetry. She recently completed the Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program via The Writers Guild Foundation and the DEAR Fellowship program for artists. She is the author of "The Ghetto Youth Handbook
