Professional artist studios in BRAC's recently renovated building are now available for up to two year residencies, on a year to year basis, for artists working in various visual art disciplines including: painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation and new media. Selected artist will have the opportunity to produce new work and make use of BRAC’s extensive resources in support of their creative practices.
BRAC’s non-living studios are accessible Monday to Friday, 10am to 10pm, and on weekends from 10am to 6pm. Each open plan studio has a window or windows, vary in size from 250 to 400 sq ft. and range in price from $450 -$800.
Artists will be selected based on their portfolio of work, statement of intent, and an expressed interest to work within the Bronx community. Applicants will be reviewed by a diverse independent selection panel composed of artists, curators, and arts professionals. The program is seeking artists with a developed studio practice, and who are not enrolled in a college or university degree-granting program. BRAC does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, or sexual orientation.
Occupancy is projected as early as January 2, 2024.
