The Governors Island Residency Initiative, will provide free workspaces in LMCC’s Arts Center at Governors Island and the Island’s historic houses in Nolan Park and Colonels Row. BronxArtSpace is proud to be selected as one of the 18 cultural organizations to provide workspace for 6 artists in one of the historic houses.
BronxArtSpace (BAS) invites Bronx-based artists to apply for its Artist Residency program. The program responds to a crucial need for studio space and professional development opportunities for emerging Bronx artists. Due to COVID19, the chosen artists will not be expected to open their studios to the public nor will we be required to put up an exhibition. However, we will offer an online artist talk.
Unfortunately BronxArtSpace can’t give stipends but we offer to collect the artist's materials in BronxArtSpace and transport them from there to the island at the start and back at the end of the residencies.
Application Deadline:2020-08-08
