Cultural Sustainability: Community Roots program | Mid Atlantic Arts

Mid Atlantic Arts is thrilled to announce the launch of the Cultural Sustainability: Community Roots program—a unique initiative that the six U.S. regional arts organizations (RAOs) in partnership with The Wallace Foundation—have launched to support arts and culture in Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

The goal is to ensure that arts organizations founded by, with, and for communities of color receive funding comparable to that of historically well-established organizations.

What Cultural Sustainability: Community Roots Offers:

Financial Support: Unrestricted operational funding to arts organizations founded by, with, and for communities of color, allowing them to sustain and expand their practices to benefit the communities they serve.
Cultural Sustainability: A purpose-built program designed to nurture the continuation and evolution of cultural traditions within communities of color.
Community Connection: Be part of a cohort of twenty regional arts organizations who are dedicated to preserving the cultural legacies of their communities.

If your organization is committed to supporting artists and a more inclusive cultural landscape, we encourage you to apply for the Cultural Sustainability: Community Roots grant. Together, we can cultivate a vibrant and resilient future for the arts across our communities.
