QUEER | ART invites applications for the Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists. Developed and named in partnership with Mariette Pathy Allen, Aaryn Lang, and Serena Jara, this annual $10,000 grant will be awarded to draw attention to an existing body of work and aims to shed light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women's visual artists and will provide critical support to their continuing work. Winning artists will receive additional professional development resources and guidance to bolster their creative development. This year, Mariette Pathy Allen has decided to expand the grant to further recognize finalists for their artistic achievements, and the grant will also provide a $1,250 award to four distinguished finalists.
