RCC Teen Theater

RCC Teen Theater
RCC Teen Theater is an intricate part of our cultural arts programs and is wholly consistent with our founder’s mission. Young thespians involved in the program develop their creative talents; learn important life skills such as commitment and responsibility; and, strengthen relationships - peer to peer and youth to adult. In May 2006, our Teen Theater Program was recognized on its 25th anniversary by The New York City Office of the Mayor. This year’s RCC Spring Musical portion of Teen Theater will begin in January 2015 and end in May 2015 with auditions, training and rehearsals, scenic design; and, a full-scale Broadway musical production encompassed in that timeframe. In early January auditions began for the spring show, a full-scale Broadway musical of "Bye Bye Birdie”. The spring performances will be held in mid-May. Workshops in vocal, drama, and dance occur throughout the school year to help prepare the young people for the auditions and give extra support to those youth who may wish to continue with theater development but may not have obtained a part in the current year's productions.
