A “CommuniTea” is a multi-disciplinary art happening revolving around the drinking and sharing of tea in a local community within a mobile teahouse setting. Andrew Freedman Home Artist-in-Residence Michele Brody concentrates on bringing together a wide range of artists such as musicians, poets and dancers with intergenerational community members to share a tea and their stories. Set on the grounds and within the historic wood paneled library of The Andrew Freedman Home, the "CommuniTea with Poetry" focuses on expanding upon the Community Art Center’s mission of creating a destination for artistic and cultural exchange and a hub of learning and creativity that engages the community by bringing exciting, interactive programs to the people of the Bronx.
