The process of the life of a plant will be illustrated by the observance of the beginnings of a plant as it emerges from the soil and spreads its leaves that will be the plants' life-giving sustenance of photosynthesis. There will be plants that have reached their full growth and are flowering that will have wonderful color and form and be exciting to paint. And, as the plant slowly dies its seeds will fall to the ground and regenerate for the next season and its leaves will become mineral giving compost. The observance of these natural processes is an important aspect and will be incorporated into the children’s art projects. The child will be able to choose drawing the full flowering plant or a plant that is in decomposition and learn that all these plant cycles are essential to life and art as they interpret nature on paper, canvas, and other mediums.
