Alethea Pace is a Bronx-based multidisciplinary choreographer and performer committed to creating work in and with her community that is rooted in social justice. She is a 2023-2035 Civic Practice Partnership Artist in Residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was a recipient of the 2021 Dance Magazine Harkness Promise Award. Her most recent work, Here goes the neighborhood.., was presented at Works and Process at the Guggenheim and premiered at BAAD! with support from the Bronx Council on the Arts, the BAAD! Muse Residency and Angela’s Pulse. Her work has been presented by the Pregones Theater, Dancing While Black, Danspace Project, New York Live Arts, the 92Y, to name a few. Alethea trained at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center in the Bronx and has a BA in Urban Design from NYU and an MFA in Digital and Interdisciplinary Arts from the City College of New York.
