Lucille Loren Vasquez is an actor, singer, writer, and dancer based in the Bronx. She graduated from Providence College in 2021 with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Her most recent live performance was the original production of The Love Hate Club at Theatre Row. She is currently in rehearsal for the new play titled E.G.G by Emile Lacheny that is taking part in the New York Theatre Festival this fall. Other stage acting credits include For the Love of Lina as Lina, Cast(e) as herself, The Misanthrope as Celimene, and Lost Girl as Katie (the lost girl). Her film acting credits include her performance in Raising Isaac, Oranges, Porcelain, Shift, and Perspective of Love. Lucille has a special interest in workshopping new material and productions. She joined Art Defined’s inaugural Flip the Script Anthology Performance with her most recent play Up Against which tackles themes of family, violence, and womanhood. Lucille trained at Deena Levy’s Theatre Studio studying Meisner’s technique and is undergoing voice training with Melissa Cintron at Pelham Music Arts Studio.
Lucille's play, Shift the Rain, explores how modern culture and gentrification permanently alters the fabric of a stronghold community in the Bronx. The play tells the story of Diamond and Lila- two best friends whose lives get turned around unexpectedly. Set in a community in the Bronx, the girls face a looming threat to their lives and the community they were raised in due to the inevitable consequences of gentrification. Diamond and Lila are limited to their imagination and stories of other neighborhoods who have been affected, to understand what this will mean for them.
