Linda Cunningham will develop a series of 25 canvas panels between 9 &11 ft high, incorporating photo transfers layered with collage and drawing based on and documenting significant aspects of the Bronx River, Bronx woodlands, coastal wetlands and the Bronx waterfront areas. This new series of panels will incorporate both my contemporary photos and historic photos retrieved from the archives of relevant sites. The installation also can include 4ft wide cross-cut sections of 200 year-old trees felled in our historic Woodlawn cemetery by super-storm “Sandy” which I have rescued from becoming mulch with the assistance of Woodlawn cemetery and stored in my studio. I will also be hunting for other resonant natural forms along the Bronx river, wetlands and woodland area.
