Lauren Camara, a self-taught artist, graphic designer and art director based in the Bronx will be our guest speaker at the Riverdale Art Association’s first monthly meeting on September 5th, 7 PM, at the Hudson House, 3247 Johnson Avenue.
Lauren Camara is a self-taught artist, graphic designer and art director based in the Bronx. She has always been fascinated by the unusual textures, bold colors and intricate patterns that characterize paper, and used swatches of paper she received from printing companies to create her first cut paper piece.
Lauren integrates her technical skills and artistic sensibility to create distinctive, graphic-driven work, cutting all of the paper by hand. The textures, patterns and colors of the papers she chooses represent the contrasts, complexities and contradictions of her experiences.
