El Festival de El Grito de Lares has been celebrated since 1976 at Vyse Ave between 167st and Home Avenue in the Bronx. This Festival commemorates The Lares Uprising of September 23, 1868 which solidified de Puerto Rican nationality. Every year the Festival presents bands, poets, DJs, dancers, historians, etc.
