In Fifteen Century, Walachia Prince Vlad Dracul III, son of the dragon, faces Sultan Mehmet II The Conqueror. The explosive fights intertwine with love nights and betrayal for an epic tale of passion, heroism and war performed by the Ajkun Ballet Company at the St. Jean’s Theater (150 E 76th St, NYC).
Based on historic events and legends surrounding Prince Vladimir Dracul III (1431-1476) of Transylvania, with original libretto and choreography by Chiara Ajkun, Dracula premiered in New York City in 2016 as a one act ballet.
The centerstage is the richness of the choreography, the fascinating music, and the powerful dances in an emotionally charged event that uses minimalist décor to highlight the choreography.
From the original cast, Klevis Tafaj (Dracula) and Momoko Burbine (Mina) will lead the way for the dancers of the Ajkun Ballet Theatre.
