Join us for a Virtual Works-in-Progress Reading for Bronx Writers and Poets Series
BIPOC and LGBTQ+ Bronx based writers especially welcome!
Submit an excerpt of your work for a chance to participate in a reading within a supportive virtual Bronx writer’s community. Six spots are available for this first round and if it takes off I will host it monthly for the 2021/2022 winter and perhaps beyond.
While I was working on my non-fiction project I often wished I could do a read aloud, a practice that comes from playwrights developing their plays. I have found in taking workshops for two decades that reading your written work aloud is an insight shuttle into your own language and style.
This event is free.
How it works:
Submit your fiction, non-fiction or poetry (roughly 1000 words/ 5 minute read) pasted in the body of the email or .docx to
bronxwriterspoets@gmail.com
along with a brief bio.
I’ll be in touch about whether you are in this round and details with a zoom link.
If the spots are all taken, I will email you about the next event in this series.
