Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center is pleased to present our annual Heroes Day event.
Join us on Heroes Day as we celebrate those who inspire and support our students and families. Featuring Mind-Builders’ dancers, musicians, and actors, this year's performances will honor our late PYT Director, Imani Douglas.
The Mind-Builders Dance Ensemble will share newly released pieces influenced by the visionary work of the Black Lives Matter movement, Historically Black Colleges and numerous Black sports icons. Our Music Ensemble’s pieces will include Duke Ellington’s It Don’t Mean a Thing If You Ain’t Got That Thing, Andra Day’s Rise Up and Mariah Carey’s Hero. As a celebration of her life, Shades of Truth Theater and Friends of Imani Douglas will install a stool at Mind-Builders in her memory.
