About Daya Arts

Founded in 2017 by Kiran Rajagopalan and Wesley Beeks, Daya Arts is committed to the presentation, preservation, and promotion of visual and performing arts by professional artists of color in the United States. Its basic mission is to bridge diasporic communities through original, high-quality artistic productions. Although focused on traditional art rooted in South India and West Africa, Daya Arts also actively participates in initiatives that engage with other disparate communities of color in the metropolitan area. To date, Daya Arts has organized a sold-out showcase of South Asian LGBTQ artists at BAAD! Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance and produced two original choreographic works – Sāmityam and Twin Rivers.

The Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos is thrilled to host Daya Arts co-founder Kiran Rajogopalan for this engaging workshop.
