Learn how to create an effective portfolio or enhance your current one to gain entrance into the gallery or museum of your dreams. It is important that your portfolio catches the eye of curators before your work is installed. This session will offer the necessary tools to a successful portfolio. Open to all visual artists. Please bring in your portfolio and/or portfolio materials.
About Laura Alvarez (Instructor)
Laura Alvarez was born in Valencia, Spain. Studied an MA in Fine Arts in Spain and England. She was a graphic designer for more than 10 years. She arrived in New York in 2009 and went back to basics: art, illustration, mural painting, community, and education.
Laura is interested in how art interacts with people and what better place than the streets? She has taken her artwork out and has worked in different countries and neighborhoods of NYC, partnering with DOT Art (Department of Transportation), Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, ArtBridge, NYCares, WHEDco, Arecibo es 500 and more.
Laura is the Co-Founder, Vice-President, and COO of BxArts Factory, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make art accessible to everyone in the Bronx. The Factory’s programs support local artists and arts projects to increase social change.
