Bronx Artist Documentary Project
The Bronx Artist Documentary Project is a borough-wide collaborative endeavor involving 30 Bronx photographers documenting 80 Bronx visual artists at work in their studios or other Bronx venues. The BXADP contains 272 full-color pages with an introduction by artist and eight-time BCA BRIO winner Daniel Hauben, a forward by photographer Mike Kamber and a special dedication to the Bronx Council on the Arts. The book is available for purchase online.

Local artist Ruth Marshall, a Morris Park resident for fifteen years, shares her knitted animal pelts for public view and artist talks. Using the intricate method of intarsia and fair isle knitting she conducts research from museum and zoo collections to interpret the detailed patterns of nature. All of her knitted animal pelts are of selected individual skins, bringing to light the historical and current crisis of species loss through these animals’ stories.

BRONX:AFRICA Opens at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos
The BRONX:AFRICA exhibition enjoyed a successful opening this week with an intimate crowd who gathered for the February 2nd press preview/VIP reception (upper left) and hundreds of visitors kicked off the opening night reception on February 3rd (right). Some of the exhibiting artists stood proudly for their photo opp (bottom left) before the room filled up.
