From Wick to Mott Haven: The Magic Realism of Ian Charles Scott

Exploring “Magic Realism” through an extended cast of unforgettable characters stretching from Ian Charles Scott’s studio in the South Bronx to his hometown of Wick in remote Northern Scotland will be the core of Scott’s first solo show in the Bronx. (Main Gallery)

Professor Scott has chosen works from five of his past students – most of whom came to his class without previous formal instruction. The exhibit’s title refers to five of his past students - Lee Jacob Hilado, Vanessa Isabella, Ptah Miller, Osaretin Ugiagbe and Dennesa Usher  - and to the room number of the  Hostos Painting Studio.
