I'm an Air Force veteran and Bronx-based singer/songwriter. My music promotes advocacy, self-awareness, and empowerment, and my goal is to soothe and enrich audiences with captivating riffs and soul. Trained at NYC’s Music & Art High School, I was once a church singer who became a teen mom and high school dropout. My childhood dream was to be a professional singer, however this seemed fruitless, and I stopped singing for over 15 years. After earning a BA in social science and MSW degree in nonprofit management, I worked as a case manager for over a decade. In 2016, I founded Morrisania Band Project (MBP), an award-winning musical collective that adds vibrancy to the South Bronx through music, community engagement, and social initiatives. Since 2017, we’ve presented free concerts at Bronx city parks and green spaces, with partners, Bronx Music Heritage Center, 161st Street BID, and more. MBP concerts “keep the lights on in a dark and depressed community” stated one attendee. This year, MBP was voted "best Bronx cover band", and selected for the 2022 Communitas Ventures accelerator program as a social changemaker in the South Bronx. This was a valuable 11-week experience, in which we gained a wide network of on-going mentorship and alumni support. Additionally we traveled to New Orleans from August 11th through 13th for the “Crescent City Mini-Tour”, MBP’s first regional tour outside of NYS. Partnerships included Joe Diehl, a New Orleans guitarist, The Battlefield Bar, Crescent City Farmers Market, and the French Market Corporation.
